April F. Jackson
APRIL FORD JACKSON was born and raised in Carencro, Louisiana and currently resides in Ponchatoula. She has five children, Ayriona, Tycora, Cory Jr., Caleb, and Camille. Mrs. Jackson received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Louisiana State University in 2008.
After graduation, Jackson worked as a legal secretary for Veronica “Vicky” Jones, a family law solo practitioner in Baton Rouge. It was this work that helped her realize her love and passion for law.
Jackson chose to follow her dream and pursue her legal education. In January 2016, she received her Juris Doctor degree from Southern University Law School in Baton Rouge.
It was during her law school career that she married her longtime partner, Cory Jackson, Sr. and had their children together, Caleb and Camille.
Jackson with the help of her faith and her strong family support, remained dedicated to finish her dream and her goals while working full time, commuting to evening school, raising children and managing a household.
After being admitted to the Bar in May 2016 (while pregnant with Camille), Jackson practiced as an associate at a debt collection firm in Baton Rouge, The Eaton Group, L.L.C. Jackson enjoyed practicing law there but after diligently searching, she found her way home to finally practice her niche and first love; family law.
Jackson’s practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning, child custody/visitation matters, child support, spousal support, civil restraining orders, paternity, protective orders, and complex community property settlements. Jackson is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the 21st Judicial District Bar Association and the 22nd Judicial District Bar Association.
Jackson is a member of First True Love World Outreach Ministries Church of Ponchatoula. Her son, Caleb is a Crusader for Christ at St. Joseph Catholic School in Ponchatoula.
When not at the office, Jackson loves to travel, read novels and spend time with her family.
