Carl Goode and Patrick Reso have been named to Louisiana Super Lawyers for 2010.

Patrick Reso is now a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist, a designation awarded by the Louisiana State Bar Association, Board of Legal Specialization.

 

On March 6, 2009, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Richard Traina to the State Board of Election Supervisors.

The State Board of Election Supervisors serves to review election laws and the conduct of elections within the state.

According to the statute, the board is comprised of seven members, including the lieutenant governor, the secretary of state, the attorney general and the commissioner of elections or a designee of the secretary of state, as determined by the secretary of state. The board also includes one member of the Clerks of Court Association and one member of the Registrars of Voters Association elected by their respective associations to serve. The remaining member is selected from nominations submitted by the presidents of Centenary College, Dillard University, Louisiana College, Loyola University, Tulane University of Louisiana, and Xavier University.

Richard Traina, of Covington, is an attorney with Seale & Ross, APLC, and a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Traina was nominated by the president of Loyola University, as required by statute.

Seale Ross Listed as Northshore's Largest Law Firm

NorthShore Report's Book of Lists 2007 listed Seale Ross, APLC as the Northshore's largest firm, with a total of 19 attorneys (Attorney Elsbet Smith welcomed during December 2007.)

Estate Planning Seminar Presented to Church Parish

Patrick K. Reso presented an Estate Planning Seminar to members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Parish in Mandeville, Louisiana on Thursday, November 29, 2007. The seminar, produced in conjunction with John D'Arcy Becker, CLU, AEP, of Becker & Suffern in Mandeville stressed an overview of estate planning issues for laypersons.

Accounting Seminar Held

Seale & Ross Attorneys Patrick K. Reso, Nicole Roberts Dillon, Carl S. Goode, LL.M., and Steven L. McKneely, LL.M., presented a seminar entitled "Accounting For Estates and Trusts in Louisiana" to accountants, attorneys, bank trust offers, and others attending the Lorman Educational Services Program at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in new Orleans, on November 9, 2006.

Chamber After Hours Event Held

Seale & Ross hosted the Chambers of Commerce of Hammond and Ponchatoula social gathering "Chamber After Hours" on October 18 at 6:00 p.m. in its Hammond office. The event featured hors d'oveurs, an open bar, and live music. A record crowd turned out for the event.

Land Use Studies

As a member of the Tangipahoa Parish Land Use Planning Committee, real estate attorney Lesli Bolner continues to work with other community leaders and master planning group, Kendig-Keast, to study current and proposed Tangipahoa Parish land use and the need for revisions to the subdivision regulations.

Economic Development

The firm continues its leadership in encouraging and incenting economic development in Hammond and Tangipahoa Parish, representing the the Tangipahoa Economic Foundation (TEDF) in plans to stimulate the economy and in representing the Hammond Area Economic Development District in the establishment of the Hammond Commerce Centre Business Park. The members of the TEDF have recognized this leadership role by honoring Pat Reso as the "Outstanding Non-Staff Contributor to Economic Developments in Tangipahoa Parish" at its annual meeting this past April.
