Georgia K. ThomasGeorgia Kobos Thomas hails from the small town of Bay Minette in Baldwin County, Alabama. It was her grandmother who instilled in her the notion that if you work hard doing what you enjoy, then you will have a great career with many satisfied clients. With these lessons in mind, Georgia brought her eleven years of practice in the New Orleans area to SEALE & ROSS in June, 2011.

Prior to attending Loyola University School of Law, Georgia graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Political Science from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. While at William Carey, she established the Habitat for Humanity service organization. Georgia earned her juris doctorate in May 2000, where she was actively involved in numerous student organizations, including the Student Bar Association, Delta Theta Phi, the Maritime Law Society and the Federalist Society.

Prior to joining SEALE & ROSS in 2011, Georgia performed both transactional work and commercial litigation in New Orleans and Metairie for 11 years with a regional law firm and a medium sized urban firm. She has been admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District, Middle District and Western District of Louisiana, as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

At SEALE & ROSS, Georgia’s practice has an emphasis in the areas of business law encompassing both transactional work and commercial litigation, including professional liability malpractice cases. Georgia also maintains a thriving domestic litigation practice, wherein she has successfully handles matters related to premarital planning, prenuptial agreements, spousal support, child support, child custody/visitation, OCS matters, protective orders, adoption, and community property issues. Georgia also practices in the area of estate planning, wherein she prepares wills, medical powers of attorney, durable powers of attorney and living wills. Likewise, Georgia maintains a succession practice where she represents executors of estates, as well as other potential succession heirs.

Georgia is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the 21st JDC Bar Association. She is past vice president for the Association of Women Attorneys - New Orleans and past board member of the New Orleans Center for Speech and Hearing. In addition, she is founder of the Russian Orphans Relief Foundation which strives to make life better for children living in Russian orphanages.

Currently residing in Mandeville, Louisiana with her husband and four children, Georgia is a member of St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a lay liturgist. Georgia is also a triathlete competing yearly in sprint triathlons. Georgia is an avid cyclist, training and completing the MS-150 Tour which starts and finishes in Hammond every year on the first weekend of October.
