Celeste H. ShieldsCELESTE HOYT SHIELDS is a lifelong resident of Louisiana who was born and raised in the local community of Albany. She is married to Sean A. Shields, Jr., a New Orleans native and they have two young daughters, Madyson and Ava. Mrs. Shields graduated from Louisiana College in May 2004 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Biology. While attending Louisiana College, Mrs. Shields was a member of the women’s basketball team for one season.

Upon graduation, Mrs. Shields worked as a teacher for two years before beginning her legal education, teaching history at Franklinton High School in Franklinton, Louisiana and then physical education at Houston Heights High School in Houston, Texas. She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May 2010 and was admitted to the bar that same year. While at law school, she was a member of Loyola’s Law Review Journal. Mrs. Shields is a member of the Louisiana State Bar and American Bar Associations, the 21st JDC Bar Association, Leadership Tangipahoa, as well as the Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization.  Her practice has an emphasis in the area of business law, including both transactional work and commercial litigation.

Mrs. Shields is a member of Eagle Heights Church in Hammond. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
